£1.80 Muted Autumn Nails

Nail related confession- I wasn’t convinced when ‘nude’ / muted neutral nail shades (beige/taupe/greys) first became popular. I was attracted to bright colours and ignored this trend completely for quite a while. That was silly of me really, because it turns out I love these shades; I now have several in my collection at any one time.

Today’s polish is from Essence; it was part of a haul I treated myself to just after my birthday, one of the few times a year that I don’t need to feel any guilt about spending a little money on myself 🙂

This polish is from the I 💚 Trends: The Nudes collection and retails at a seriously affordable £1.80. I have used a topcoat from Essence as well (£2.50).

This shade is 08 Crunchy Cake and I really like it. Two coats achieved good coverage but a third thin coat could be applied as required. There’s something classy about this colour – its elegant and understated. If you dress smartly for work, this colour wouldn’t look out of place or too garish during the work week.

The polish itself dries to a pleasing shine but I always use a topcoat to increase wear time. I’m on day 5 of this nail look and the colour has stayed put without even needing a coat of topcoat to freshen. Can’t argue with that, especially at these prices!

Essence products can be found at Wilko or Beauty Crowd in the UK. The brand is sooooo cheap that you can grab several nail products in one go without breaking the bank. Yay!

What’s your favourite nail polish right now?

Wishing you good luck & happy days,
