It’s confession time again here at ‘Chronic Pain Cockney – The Little Things’: I have never owned or used a NARS product. I’ve had their Audicious Lipstick in Anna on my wishlist for sometime but have never quite felt justified in spending £24 on one lipstick. When I heard about the NARS/Glossybox collaboration, I decided I’d do my best to get my hands on one & explore the brand a little. I was lucky to manage it; this box sold out in 27 minutes flat. I was having a horrible day pain-wise, so much so that I missed an important hospital appointment that morning. But the silver lining on that rubbish day was that I managed, from my horizontal in the dark position, to squint at my iPhone with one eye open long enough to quickly order my box as soon as they went on sale. A little beauty-themed high point in a day that was mostly about rocking with pain & throwing up. I’m such a glamorous, sexy blogger 😜.
Let’s start from the outside with this limited edition box of loveliness:
Products aside, the thing I like about this box is the attention to detail. The box itself has a decadent vibe going on before you even open it. As part of the monthly subscription, it’s not unusual to receive a box featuring art work from a particular designer/beauty guru. These tend to be gorgeous; I often use them as backdrops for blog photos. However, I’m glad this box design erred on the understated side. The black matte finish is lovely & just right in my opinion.
The aforementioned attention to detail extends to the the packaging inside – who doesn’t love black branded ribbon?!
The following products are included, each in their own individual boxes (matte black everything!):
- Audacious Mascara
- Larger Than Life Longwear Eyeliner in Via Veneto
- The Multiple in Orgasm
- Blush in Orgasm
- Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien
The product packaging is sturdy & stylised as you’d expect from a brand in this price range (did I mention that everything is matte black?! 😜 love it).
The products are a decent size. I expect to be able to trial them for a good while before reaching any conclusions on how I feel about the brand & whether it is worth the higher end price tags. This is the only beauty box I’ve ever bought that I genuinely think I’ll use all the products from. I think the colour choice for the blush, Multi & Lip Pencil are spot on – the Orgasm shade is something of a cult classic now so I’m looking forward to trying it out & seeing what all the fuss is about. I think the Lip Pencil in particular is a dusky rose type shade that will work on most skin tones & looks perfect for this time of year.
Overall I’m pleased with my box. I think the products have been carefully chosen to appeal to pretty much everyone. From a personal preference point of view I’d have liked a matte lip product rather than satin but I’m still looking forward to trying out all of products. For someone who is largely stuck indoors, a box of quality treats to try out delivered right to me is a fabulous thing. I was stuck in bed for a couple of days before I was able to open my box & it was a lovely treat to look forward to. The next time I leave the house, I’ll be test-driving at least a couple of these gorgeous products!

Super jealous you managed to get your hands on this box! I was just typing in my card details when they sold out 😦 I have only tried the Creamy Radiant Concealer from NARS but I definitely want to try more of their products! xx

I got one too, I thought the box itself was a little grubby. I’m pleased with the contents though!

I know what you mean, the matte finish on box was gorgeous but definitely attracted random marks.
