Starting ‘Chronic Pain Cockney – The Little Things’ was an impulsive decision I came to one sleepless night in August 2015. I’m glad I did; I’m enjoying blogging and it’s something I can do whilst looking dreadful and being horizontal (every post is written entirely on my iPhone). Blogging is something I never imagined having the time to do until my Chronic Migraine morphed into Chronic Daily Migraine + Fibromyalgia, bringing my 10 year teaching career to a screeching halt. I have plenty of time these days, but very few hours when my pain level is low enough to function in any meaningful way.
So, 6 months into my blogging experiment I’ve decided to tweak a few things. Firstly, I’ve finally gotten around to purchasing/registering the domain chronicpaincockney.com 😊 It just looks neater without the .wordpress part!
I’ve got myself the header image I was after for both my blog and my Twitter account. I knew what I wanted but can’t draw to save my life (not sure exactly when a person would need to draw themselves out of an impending death situation, but you know what I mean). Claire at AholaLola Cards did the adorable artwork for me and I’m delighted with it. Check out her Twitter account for examples of her gorgeous work.
I intend to revaluate the entire look of my blog when I get some upright hours and can therefore use the laptop; I’d like to pretty it up a little. It’s high time I did this, since so far I’ve given it no thought at all 😁.
Finally, I plan to add a new type of content to Chronic Pain Cockney – The Little Things. I’ll still post a couple of times per week on beauty related loveliness but I’ll also be writing some posts on the topic of living with chronic pain. Granted, it’s not as much fun as lipstick, but I think it will be good for me; I already have a YouTube channel for that stuff but I’m only well enough to film so sporadically that I need another outlet. If you’re interested only in the beauty content, that’s fine; feel free to skip the Chronic Life posts. If you’re someone who relates to my Chronic Life posts then jump in and introduce yourself in the comments section!
