A truly joyous thing happened recently. Whilst rummaging through a drawer, I found a Debenhams gift card I received at Christmas and had completely forgotten about (this is what happens when I put things ‘somewhere safe’). So I was able to glance over my ‘stuff I want’ list and select a few things to buy for myself without feeling guilty – yay! When you’re struggling with an invisible illness/disability and are unable to work, spending any kind of money on yourself can make you feel guilty…but that’s another post!
I have what I’d describe as combination/oily skin – t-zone gets REALLY oily but my cheeks are generally calm with occasional redness when a particular product disagrees with my skin. To help me in my battle against the dreaded shine, I’ve bought 3 products aimed at keeping skin matte and increasing the wear time of makeup.
I opted for:
- Makeup Forever Step 1 Mattifying Primer
- Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
- Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
I’m hoping that by using these products together I’ll be able to regain some control over the shine! As my meds and condition can trigger hot sweats as well, I’ll really be putting these products to the test – keep an eye out for review/update posts.
Do you have a favourite mattifying product?
